A Wallaceburg man has been arrested and charged with several sex offences aimed at children.
Chatham-Kent (CK) police alleged the 25-year-old man was communicating with multiple minors and that he was found with child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
The charges stem from information received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children in September, which alleged that a CK resident was sharing the illegal materials on the social media platforms Snapchat and Dropbox.
According to police, officers searched the man's home in Wallaceburg on November 6 and seized several electronic devices.
"Through analysis of devices seized, police allege that the man was communicating with multiple persons under the age of 16," police said.
The accused was arrested on Wednesday and charged with several offences, including possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, luring a child, and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
Police did not release the man's name.
The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing and the investigation continues, according to police.
