Walker suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck by vehicle

A 49-year-old Chatham man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle near Moraviantown.

The collision happened just before 11 p.m. on Thursday on Longwoods Road between Littlejohn Road and Zone Road 7.

The man was walking along the road when he was hit by a vehicle being driven by a 54-year-old Thamesville woman.

He was transported to the Four Counties Health Services in Newbury before being airlifted to the London Health Sciences Centre, where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

The section of Longwoods Road was closed off overnight but has since reopened.
