Golf tourney sets new fundraising record to support CK hospitals

Hospital care in Chatham-Kent recently received a financial boost from this year's record-breaking Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation's (CKHAF) annual golf tournament.

On Monday, CKHAF reported a record-breaking $154,647 was raised at the 21st annual golf tournament on June 5.

The foundation said 152 golfers participated in the sold-out tournament, made possible by more than 40 dedicated volunteers, over 35 sponsors, and community partners who came together in support of local healthcare.

"This year's tournament once again exceeded our expectations," said Christine Mitchell, President and CEO of CKHAF. "To surpass last year's record-breaking total and raise more than $154,000 through a single-day event is truly remarkable. The continued growth and success of this tournament speak volumes about the generosity of our community and the incredible commitment so many individuals and organizations have to supporting exceptional healthcare close to home."

According to CKHAF, the tournament's online auction was a significant contributor to this year's success, raising $14,682.

Proceeds from the tournament will help fund the highest-priority needs at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, including vital equipment, technology, and facility enhancements at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg hospital sites.

"Our hospital's needs are constantly evolving, and community events like this allow us to respond quickly and strategically to those needs," added Mitchell. "We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and donors whose support continues to elevate this tournament year after year. Together, we are helping ensure that patients and families throughout Chatham-Kent continue to receive exceptional care close to home."

Planning is already underway for next year's tournament.
