An OPP drug trafficking investigation has resulted in two arrests and several charges laid.
In early fall of 2025, members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began the investigation in Collingwood.
Through the investigation, officers observed the primary suspects taking part in activities consistent with drug trafficking.
As a result, police obtained four search warrants.
On Tuesday, a 32-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested.
The woman has been charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possessing opioids (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking.
The man has been charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possessing opioids (other than heroin) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of other drugs for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, prohibited device or ammunition, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, three counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, and possessing a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with.
After the arrests, police completed four search warrants in Vaughan and Barrie. Officers seized 511.3 grams of suspected cocaine, 417.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, 80 grams of suspected oxycodone, and three firearms.
The investigation was completed by members of the OPP CSCU from the Collingwood and Huronia West Detachments, with assistance from Huntsville and Peterborough Detachments, as well as York Regional Police.
Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
