Weapons and arson charges laid by Wellington OPP against Durham man

A 40-year-old Durham man is facing numerous charges, including arson and weapons offences, following a recent incident outside Mount Forest.

According to Wellington County OPP, officers responded just after 6 a.m. on April 28 to a disturbance at a residence outside of Mount Forest, where a victim sustained minor injuries.

Following an investigation, police charged a 40-year-old from Durham with a lengthy list of charges, including arson - damage to property, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, impaired driving, uttering threats to damage property and mischief for destroying or damaging property.

As a result, the accused was eventually released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on June 12.

The accused also had their license suspended for 90 days and had their vehicle impounded, as well.
