OPP issue warning regarding deer collisions

Lambton OPP are reminding drivers to keep an eye out for deer.

As the snow melts, deer move from winter shelters to grow their habitats and seek new food sources.

OPP said officers continue to respond to motor vehicle collisions involving deer across the county.

Police said deer are most active on cloudy or overcast days during the hours of dawn and dusk, especially in rural and wooded areas.

Motorists are reminded to stay alert, always scan the roadway and adjacent ditches ahead of you while driving, and use high beams when it's safe to do so.

If you do spot a deer, assume there are more nearby, and keep a safe distance.
