UPDATE: No charges filed after warrant executed on Front Road

A section of Front Road in LaSalle was closed on Thursday evening due to an active police investigation.

LaSalle police posted on social media that officers closed Front Road between Malden Road and Martin Lane shortly after 7 p.m.

Few details have been released, but police first reported that with the help of the OPP, LaSalle officers executed a search warrant and took one person into custody two hours later.

On Friday morning, police reported in an update that no charges have been filed.

"LaSalle Police officers seized firearms from the involved residence without incident and there were no criminal charges laid in the investigation," said Constable Alaina Atkins.

There was never any threat to public safety, and the road has since reopened.
