Warwick Township has purchased its municipal office building for $2.4 million in a move that's expected to generate an annual savings of about $100,000.
The property, at 5280 Nauvoo Road, was recently bought from the Watford Investment Group Ltd.
Mayor Todd Case said the acquisition marks an important investment in the township's long-term financial sustainability by establishing the municipal office building as a permanent asset.
"One of council's goals this term was to purchase the municipal office building to save money for our residents," said Case. "Municipalities should own as much of their essential infrastructure as possible."
Case said since relocating the municipal office to downtown Watford in April 2022, the building has provided residents with a more central and accessible location for municipal services.
