Roughly 200 vehicles are expected to attend Countryview's 10th annual Classic Car and Truck Show held in support of Pathways Health Centre for Children and the Sarnia and District Humane Society.
Event Coordinator Tammy Haslip said there will be over 25 vendors at Countryview Motel and RV Resort, along with games, door prizes, and a dunk tank.
"The [Sarnia] Street Machines President, Kip McMillan, has decided to challenge us to see who can raise the most amount of money. We're going to do a set timeframe in the dunk tank each, so it'll be myself versus Kip," Haslip said.
The car and truck show will be held on Sunday, August 23, with registration beginning at 8 a.m.
Participant entry is $10 but spectators can attend for free.
Last year, the event raised $16,500, split between the humane society and Pathways.
"We are planning to double what we donated to each charity last year," she said.
Haslip said for her, it's a full-circle moment to be able to give back to Pathways (previously referred to as the Rotary Centre). She said her dad continued the car show with Countryview.
"My dad was part of the Bluewater Classic Chevy Club way back when, and they donated to the Rotary Centre in 1984," Haslip said. "We just thought it was kind of a nice circle to come back and deal with the same charity."
Countryview Motel and RV Resort is located at 4569 London Line in Wyoming.
The rain date for the event is Sunday, August 30.
