Sting lose big to Brantford

The Sarnia Sting had a tough time stopping goals from being scored against the Brantford Bulldogs.

The two teams faced off in Brantford on Friday, with the Bulldogs winning 7-2.

The first period saw three goals, all scored by Brantford. Starting goalie Patrick Quinlan was pulled after the first period for giving up the goals on just eight shots.

Evan Maillet took over in net; however, Brantford added a fourth goal early in the second period.

Brenner Lammens got the Sting on the board later in the period with his 2nd goal of the season. Getting the only assist was Easton Walos.

Brantford would score two more times before the second intermission, scoring three goals in the period on just seven shots.

The third period saw each team score once, Brantford getting the first and Liam Beamish getting the second for the Sting. Beamish's 4th goal of the season was assisted by Matthew Manza and Mitch Young.

Brantford's seven goals were scored on just 19 shots.

The loss puts the Sting's record at 6-12-3-1.

Sarnia's next game is on the road against the Erie Otters on Saturday. Puck drop will be at 7 p.m.
