McGregor woman mistakes lottery winning for a scam

A McGregor woman’s disbelief turned to joy when she discovered an email from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation was real and that she had won $100,000 in a LOTTO MAX ENCORE draw.

Mitzi Fujs, a teacher, discovered that she had matched the last six numbers on her ENCORE ticket for the September 9 draw.

A long-time lottery player of about 40 years, she now looks forward to retiring in June.

"It's perfect timing," she beamed at the OLG Centre in Toronto. "I feel very grateful."

Fujs plans to pay off bills and share some of her winnings with her son.

The winning ticket was bought at OLG.ca.
