Mother Nature has caused an issue with one of Windsor-Essex's newest farmers' markets.
The Town of Tecumseh announced on Friday afternoon that it has cancelled the final market of the 2025 season, set for Sunday at Lacasse Park, citing rain in the weekend forecast.
"While the Town is disappointed to make this decision, the safety of vendors and visitors is the top priority," said Town of Tecumseh spokesperson Amanda Circelli. "The Town extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the first year of the Tecumseh Farmers Market such a success, vendors, dedicated volunteers, and the community members who came out each week to show their support."
This was the first season of the Tecumseh market, which began on Father's Day and has been held on the third Sunday of each month since then.
Tecumseh plans to bring the market back in 2026, with next year's schedule ready early in the new year.
