Over 1,500 newcomers to the region explored community services at the Multicultural Council's annual Health and Wellness Expo on Wednesday.
The Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County has been hosting the expo for over 21 years. This year, there were over 50 community organizations involved including Family Services Windsor-Essex, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the United Way.
"It's a one stop shop event today to provide services for individuals," said Director of Programs and Development Daniel Beliciu. "We have health and wellness, we have employment, we have fitness, there's family services, there's counselling, there's mental health providers."
Transportation was provided to the expo from locations throughout Windsor and Essex County. Many participants came from various language programs offered throughout the region.
“Our Health and Wellness Expo is about more than sharing information, it’s about fostering community,” said Fred Francis, Executive Director of the MCC. “We’re proud to provide a space where people can learn, ask questions, and connect directly with professionals who care deeply about their health and success in Canada.”
