One major road project gets underway on Monday, while another at the opposite end of the city moves into a new phase.
Starting Monday, Morton Drive, from west of the Ojibway Parkway to the Essex Terminal Rail tracks, will shut down as part of an infrastructure renewal project by the Windsor Utilities Commission. A new watermain is being installed.
There will also be lane restrictions on Morton Drive, with the eastbound lane closed east of Ojibway Parkway.
Traffic will be detoured via Ojibway Parkway and Old Front Road in LaSalle until December 19.
"While every effort will be made to minimize traffic impacts and afford local access to residents and businesses, occasional delays can be expected," read a release from the Windsor Utilities Commission. "To help keep our workers safe, we ask motorists to slow down, obey posted signage, and stay alert when approaching or passing through the construction zone."
Meanwhile, in the east end of Windsor, northbound Banwell Road will be closed to traffic from the E.C. Row Expressway to north of the Mulberry Roundabout.
Northbound left turns from the expressway, and right turns from westbound E.C. Row will not be permitted.
Southbound traffic on Banwell and eastbound traffic from Wildwood will only be allowed to go southbound on Banwell Road.
The latest work on Banwell Road is expected to wrap up on Friday, December 5, at 6 p.m.
