Man charged after sexual assault of a minor

A 56-year-old man faces multiple charges in connection with the sexual assault of a minor.

Chatham-Kent police initially arrested the man in September on charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching involving a child victim. According to police, officers determined that similar assaults had happened involving the same victim and suspect in Windsor.

After learning this, the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit launched its own investigation.

Windsor police found that the two met each other outside of a convenience store in the summer of 2025, leading to the suspect offering the minor a ride home and allegedly paying them for sex.

"Between July 1, 2025, and September 13, 2025, the suspect reportedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim on multiple occasions in exchange for money and goods," Windsor police said in a media release, adding that the older man hit the victim after they refused.

The man was arrested again on Saturday at an Assumption Street address.

He faces charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and assault.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Windsor police at 519-255-6700 (ext. 4830) or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
