If you have business at a local town hall or at Windsor City Hall, better get to it on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Windsor City Hall and municipal halls across the region will shut down on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. They won't reopen again until December 29.
They'll shut down again next Thursday for New Year's Day.
In Windsor, the 311 customer contact centre will also shut down on Thursday, Friday, and New Year's Day. Regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents can still report fallen trees, sewer backups, and road damage outside of business hours by calling 519-255-6326, and self-serve options are available any time.
The 211 call centre is open throughout the holidays.
Garbage and recycling will not be picked up on Christmas or Boxing Day, and there will be no collection on New Year's Day. Residential garbage, yard waste, Green Bin organics, and recycling collection will be delayed by one day after the holidays. Residents can also check their 2025-26 Waste Collection Calendar or the Recycle Coach App.
Night-time commercial and night weekly pickup will not be delayed.
Remember, the City of Windsor, Tecumseh, Lakeshore, Amherstburg, and LaSalle will start collection of the new recycling bins on January 1, along with the city's new diaper service.
Christmas tree and yard waste collection starts the week of January 12.
All rinks and arenas will close on Wednesday at 2 p.m. On December 26, the WFCU Centre will reopen, and the Lanspeary Lions Outdoor rink will resume operations. All other arenas reopen on December 27.
The WFCU Centre will be open on New Year's Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for ice rentals.
The WFCU Centre Pool closed on Monday and will reopen with regular hours on December 27. It will shut down again on December 29 and stay closed until January 8 for scheduled maintenance.
At the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre, hours have been adjusted between December 24 and January 4. It will be closed on Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.
Adventure Bay Family Water Park is offering holiday hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but will be closed on the statutory holidays.
Windsor Public Library Branches will close on Wednesday at 1 p.m. and reopen on December 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All branches are open on New Year's Eve Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will close for New Year's Day.
The holidays won't impact hours at Bright Lights Windsor. It will remain open from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night at Jackson Park.
The Homelessness and Housing Help Hub will offer services to those experiencing homelessness throughout the holidays.
In Tecumseh, there is no transit service on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. Tecumseh Arena is closed from Wednesday to January 1, and those who have to make a payment at Tecumseh Town Hall can place those envelopes in the drop box located at the main entrance. Garbage collection in Tecumseh is set for Friday.
