Windsor police's Amherstburg detachment is looking for a woman who allegedly passed "funny money" at a grocery store last month.
The woman entered the supermarket on Sandwich Street South near Maple Avenue and used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for one small item.
A short time later, the woman went to a variety store and tried to pay with another phony $100 bill. When the employee determined the bill was fake, the woman ran.
Police say she drove off in an older-model Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The suspect is described as a White female, about 5’ 6” tall, with a medium build, blonde hair, and false eyelashes.
Police continue to urge business owners to be vigilant, as counterfeit $100 bills are still making the rounds.
Anyone with information on either incident or the woman's identity should call the Windsor police's Financial Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, extension 4330. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
