The Town of Essex has a new Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
Jake Morassut started his new position on Monday and will work closely with Essex CAO Kate Giurissevich, supporting corporate leadership, advancing strategic priorities, and strengthening coordination across all town departments.
"Jake brings a strong understanding of the Town of Essex and a proven ability to lead with integrity and collaboration," said Giurissevich. "His experience, commitment to public service, and strategic mindset make him well-suited for the role."
Morassut joined the Town of Essex in 2025 and has held different roles during his tenure, including Community Services Operator, Facility Clerk, Property Standards and Enforcement Officer, and Manager of Parks and Facilities. He's been the Director of Community Services since 2022.
Aside from his work at town hall, Morassut was also a volunteer firefighter with Essex Fire and Rescue Services from 2019 to 2022.
Morassut is a University of Windsor graduate who earned a Master's of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University. He is a certified Community Emergency Management Coordinator and completed the Emerging Leaders Program at McMaster University.
