Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare unveiled its new $8.2 million outpatient rehabilitation centre this week.
The new facility features specialized equipment for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology.
"Today is more than a celebration, it is the beginning of a new chapter for rehabilitation care in our region,” said Sarah Picco, Director of Rehabilitation and Restorative Care and Patient Transitions. “This Centre embodies a shared belief that every person deserves the opportunity to recover, regain independence, and return to the life they love. Thank you to everyone who helped turn imagination into reality."
The space was made possible through the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation's Imagine Campaign, which has raised $4-million to date.
The Toldo family and the Toldo Foundation donated $1.5 million of that, earning naming rights to the facility.
“The new Toldo Outpatient Rehabilitation Centre stands as a powerful affirmation of what we can accomplish when a community comes together,” said David Cassidy, Board Chair of the HDGH Foundation. “This space stands as a testament to the generosity, commitment, and belief of our donors, who understand that meaningful change begins with investing in specialty care that strengthens our community.”
The Outpatient Program at HDGH serves around 15,000 patients each year.
The foundation is still looking to raise the remaining funds for the project.
