Windsor fire officials say a fire on Wednesday afternoon near downtown was put out quickly.
Firefighters responded at around 2:30 p.m. to Ouellette Avenue near Montrose Street.
The home's occupant was able to use a fire extinguisher before crews arrived. Firefighters quickly put out a fire that lingered on a couch.
Two people were taken to hospital with injuries.
The cause of the fire was determined to be hot oil from a cooking fire that extended to the couch.
There was no word on a damage estimate.
