Windsor police responded to almost a dozen car crashes across the city due to hazardous black ice.
On Saturday, several collisions were reported on the E.C. Row Expressway between Huron Church Road and Central Avenue. There were more crashes near Provincial Road and Walker Road. Police say the incidents were due to slippery road conditions.
According to officers, a responding police cruiser was struck from behind on E.C. Row Expressway near Walker Road.
Police report that all drivers remained on the scene, and one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officers temporarily closed down the Expressway due to the number of vehicles involved.
Police are reminding drivers that black ice is difficult to see. Urging travelers to slow down, increase following distance, and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns.
