Armed robbery suspect arrested by Windsor police

Windsor police say a 20-year-old man is facing numerous charges following an armed robbery over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Sunday at a house on Tuscarora Street near Ouellette Avenue. Police learned that the victim confronted the suspect in the home and told him to leave. The suspect then allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and took their wallet.

The victim was then forced to go to a nearby cash machine to withdraw additional money. The suspect then threatened additional consequences if the victim went to the police.

Police were contacted on Monday. While scanning surveillance video, the suspect was identified.

The suspect was arrested Monday afternoon on Erie Street East near Goyeau.

He is charged with robbery, extortion, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The charges have not been proven in court.
