HDGH Foundation celebrates a "momentus year" for fundraising

The Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare Foundation says it raised $1.6-million in 2025, more than what it budgeted for, and a whopping 47 per cent increase over fundraising the prior year.

The increase is the largest in a single year by the foundation since it was established in 2015.

During its Annual General Meeting at the Ciociaro Club recently, the foundation presented its disbursement cheque to the hospital in the amount of $790,000.

"Achieving this level of success during a period of economic uncertainty reflects the collective impact of thoughtful governance, dedicated staff, and an incredibly generous donor community," said the foundation's chair, Lynn Lee.

The funding helped support the creation of the hospital's Bob Probert Tecumseh Campus, renovations in therapy rooms, client activities, staff education, and patient bed mattresses.

Past foundation chair Dave Cassidy says he's proud to have played a role over the past two years.

"The care that happens on Prince Road changes the lives of some of our communities' most vulnerable people and their families," said Cassidy. "Children, seniors, those struggling with mental health and addictions, rehabilitative care, complex and palliative care -- Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare isn't like any other hospital. It's a speciality hospital providing high-quality and compassionate post-acute care."

The foundation is already looking ahead. It says its May 25 HDGH Charity Golf Classic is already sold out.
