Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were not only patrolling by vehicle over Victoria Day weekend, but also by motorcycle, citing an alleged stunt driver.
Just after 9 a.m. on Saturday, an OPP motorcycle patrol officer was on Highway 3 in Essex when they spotted a Volkswagen Jetta that was clocked going 138 kilometres per hour.
The speed limit is 80 kilometres per hour.
The driver, a 26-year-old Kingsville resident, was stopped and ticketed for stunt driving.
Their licence was suspended for 30 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
The charge has not been proven in court.
