Suspects in west Windsor assault surrender to police

Windsor police say two people wanted in connection with a west-end assault earlier this month have turned themselves in.

Just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, officers were called to an apartment building on Sandwich Street near Detroit Street.

An argument between two men and two women escalated into a physical fight, according to police. The complainants reported that the female suspect began punching the female victim. When the male victim tried to intervene, he was punched and choked by the male suspect.

Both victims had non-life-threatening injuries, but one was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Investigators reported on Wednesday afternoon that a 55-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman surrendered to police on May 16.

Both are charged with assault. The man faces an additional count of assault by choking.

The charges have not been proven in court.
