Weather blamed for a dip in attendance at LaSalle Strawberry Festival

The numbers are in from last weekend's LaSalle Strawberry Festival, and while attendance dipped, it was still strong enough to show the four-day event remains a summer highlight in the region.

Over four days, 22,300 people attended the festival.

"It's wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate, support local partners, and enjoy everything the festival has to offer," said Mayor Crystal Meloche.

Attendance figures show a drop from last year, largely because of extreme heat on Saturday and inclement weather on Sunday. A total of 28,686 attended the 2025 festival.

At one point, the festival had to close outdoor activities, and attendees sheltered inside the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex during a tornado warning on Sunday. The festival reopened later that afternoon.

"While the weather impacted parts of the weekend, it also demonstrated the commitment of our team to adapt and keep the event running safely," said LaSalle's Director of Culture and Recreation, Patti Funaro.

Town staff are already working on a post-event report for the LaSalle Town Council this fall.

Proceeds from the event will help offset hosting costs and support community partners, including Life After Fifty and Bike Windsor Essex.
