Police lay 19 charges after break-and-enter on Riverside Drive East

Windsor Police say just after 6 a.m. on June 23, two men walked into an open garage on Riverside Drive East near Villaire Avenue and stole power tools, credit and debit cards, and a vehicle.

The credit card was used at several businesses, and the vehicle was found two days later on Oak Street.

Members of the Windsor Police Auto Theft Unit quickly identified two suspects.

As they prepared to recover the stolen vehicle, which also had stolen plates on it, a man approached the officers and was arrested without incident.

A second man was arrested on June 28th on Hickory Road.

A 42-year-old man is charged with break-and-enter, theft of a motor vehicle, three counts of fraud under $5,000, two counts of using a credit card obtained by crime, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and six counts of breach of probation.

A 56-year-old man is also charged with break-and-enter, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
