Swimming not recommended at three public beaches this week

Swimming is not recommended at three local beaches after water testing done by the Windsor Essex County Health Unit this week.

With E.coli counts of 200 or higher, swimming is not recommended at Colchester Beach, Holiday Beach, or Lakeshore Lakeview Park West Beach. All beaches are still open.

The health unit conducts beach water testing at seven public beaches once a week on Wednesdays.

Cedar Beach, Cedar Island Beach, Point Pelee North West Beach, and Seacliff Beach have safe levels of E.Coli according to this week's results.

The health unit is also using predictive daily monitoring tools this year. Those can be found online or by calling the Beach Hotline at 519-258-2146 ext. 1490.
