Police clock vehicle going 100 km/h on Windsor residential street

Windsor Police say its Traffic Enforcement Unit issued 264 enforcement actions over four days, but one incident stands out.

An officer clocked a vehicle travelling at 100 km/h on Longfellow Avenue, a residential street where the speed limit is 50 km/h.

At first, the driver didn't stop for the police and then almost collided with another vehicle.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man on Tuesday and charged him with stunt driving, careless driving, failure to stop on the right for an emergency vehicle, and failure to properly wear a seatbelt.

His vehicle will now sit in the impound yard for two weeks, and his license is suspended for 30 days.

Police remind motorists that dangerous driving puts everyone on the road at risk.
