Jeep marked a milestone in the Canadian market with a giant feature off downtown Windsor this week.
Stellantis Canada held an event on Wednesday to mark Jeep's 85th birthday. A giant rubber duck was floated down the Detroit River and placed just off the Great Canadian Flag, right across from Stellantis Canada headquarters.
The stunt was a humourous homage to the current trend of Jeep "ducking culture", where someone places a rubber ducky on someone else's Jeep, often accompanied by a friendly note.
Wednesday's event in downtown Windsor included live music, giveaways, and a display of vintage Jeeps, including a 1943 World War II-era Willys MB, and a Windsor-built 1968 M38A1 Canadian Willys Jeep.
Stellantis also announced on Wednesday that it has rolled out the 85th Anniversary editions of the Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, and Compass. The automaker has already introduced special editions of the Wrangler and Gladiator models.
Jeep has also launched a Canadian advertising campaign. The bilingual "Anyone Who Gets It" campaign is designed to invite Canadians to explore the brand.
