Workers at NextStar Energy in Windsor have a tentative deal.
Just a year after securing their first collective agreement, Unifor Local 444 said 98 per cent of unionized workers at the plant voted in favour of strike action.
Talks began at the start of July.
Early Sunday morning, the union announced it reached a tentative deal with management at NextStar Energy.
Details of the agreement will be released in the coming days.
Right now, union officials are reviewing and finalizing the language of the agreement and will start the process of preparing the ratification vote.
The last contract included a five per cent wage increase, pensions, short and long-term disability benefits, workplace health and safety provisions, and certified Unifor Local 444 as the exclusive bargaining agent for the workers.
