Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have continued to deal with suspected impaired drivers as the long weekend approaches.
Both took place within the space of a half hour on Wednesday night.
The first was at around 11:15 p.m. in Kingsville. Officers investigated a traffic complaint on County Road 23 near County Road 20.
A 26-year-old driver from Belle River has been charged with impaired driving, driving with an excessive blood-alcohol level, and dangerous driving.
About 25 minutes later, traffic officers investigated a single-vehicle collision in Lakeshore.
A driver struck a fire hydrant on Hopgood Side Road.
A 20-year-old Lakeshore man is charged with impaired driving and driving with an excessive blood-alcohol level.
The charges have not been proven in court.
Both will have an opportunity to respond to the charges in court appearances scheduled for September in Windsor.
Each driver's licence was also suspended for 90 days and their vehicle sent to an impound lot for seven days.
