The deadline has passed for candidates to file for Windsor Mayor and City Council.
As of 5 p.m. Friday, there are 11 candidates running for mayor, and 43 running for a seat on City Council.
Windsor Mayor
Three-time incumbent Drew Dilkens formally kicked off his campaign for a fourth term on Friday.
Ward 1 City Councillor Fred Francis has filed to challenge Dilkens.
The other nine candidates for mayor are Benjamin Danyluk, Aaron Day, Dylon Graves, Tara Grayer, Nick Kolasky, Tristan Ty Morencie, Kat Pasquach, Patrick Sutherland, and Louis Vautopic.
Windsor City Council
There will be four new faces on City Council come November. In addition to Ward 1, Mark McKenzie in Ward 4, Ed Sleiman in Ward 5, and Jo-Anne Gignac in Ward 6 are not running for another term.
In Ward 1, there are seven candidates to succeed Fred Francis. They are Henry De Cordova, Geoffrey D. Guttmann, Shezi Jafri, Brenda Juarez, Frank Providenti, Darcie Renaud, and public school board trustee Linda Qin.
Ward 2 has four candidates, including incumbent Frazier Fathers, who was elected last fall when Fabio Costante resigned to become executive director of the Windsor Essex Housing Corporation. Also running in that ward are Anthony Jabbar, Nick Markham, and Cynthia Van Vrouwerff.
Renaldo Agostino, the incumbent in Ward 3, plans to run for re-election. He has three competitors, Rabia Kirma, Randal Saccucci, and Spiro S. Spiliadis.
Former Ward 4 City Councillor Chris Holt wants to reclaim the seat he vacated four years ago to run for mayor. He's running against Mike Burton, Catherine Gariepy-Schulze, Xsander Moisenko, and Rasha Zaid.
There are five candidates running to succeed Ed Sleiman in Ward 5. They are Ken Acton, Farah Ahmed, Alessandro Didone, Natasha Elizabeth Feghali, and Shane Potvin.
In Ward 6, Nick Jirgens, Denis Marier, Hiral Munim, Wendi Nicholson, Jeremy Renaud, Khassan Saka, and Owen Smith have filed their papers to run for the seat opened by the retiring Jo-Anne Gignac.
There are three candidates in Ward 7. They are incumbent Angelo Marignani, along with Beth Ann Prince, and Victoria Soluade.
Gary Kaschak, the current Ward 8 councillor, plans to run again. He'll run against Kevin Racine.
Kieran McKenzie has filed for a third term in Ward 9, and is being challenged by Soham Patel.
In Ward 10, Jim Morrison will campaign for his seat again against Wally Chafchak, Adam Ibrahim, and Mark Masanovich.
The election is Monday, October 26.
