Carrousel of the Nations named top festival in Ontario again

For the fourth consecutive year, the Carrousel of the Nations in Windsor-Essex has been named Ontario's Top Festival and Event by Attractions Ontario.

"We are incredibly proud that Ontario's top festival remains right here in Windsor-Essex," said Fred Francis, the executive director of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County. "To be recognized among thousands of festivals across the province is an extraordinary honour."

Carrousel of the Nations has been a mainstay of the summer festival season in the region for more than 50 years, and has brought communities together to celebrate the broad range of cultures in Windsor-Essex.

The festival includes "villages" in Windsor, LaSalle, Amherstburg, Harrow, Kingsville, and Leamington, welcoming visitors over two weekends in June.

This year, the festival was held June 12 to June 14, and June 19 to June 21. It recorded its highest attendance in 2026 with 226,000 attendees.

"It demonstrates that Windsor-Essex is a place where diversity is not only celebrated, but proudly showcased on a provincial stage," said Francis.
