LaSalle Police officers saved a resident's life when they were called to an address in town for a report of an overdose.
The officers administered Naloxone and CPR, saving the person's life.
Police say anyone can save a life if they know the signs of an overdose and have open conversations about substance use.
The Government of Canada says symptoms of overdose include difficulty walking, talking, or staying awake; blue or purple nails or lips, very small pupils, cold and clammy skin, dizziness and confusion, choking, gurgling, or snoring sounds, being unresponsive, and trouble breathing.
"Administer naloxone, even if you're in doubt. It won't cause harm, and it can save a life," it says on a government website.
Opioid-related overdoses can happen to anyone, regardless of age or background.
