Give Like Dolly Day coming to Kingsville

Grove Brewing Company in Kingsville and the Kiwanis Club of Windsor want you to "Give Like Dolly" at an event planned for next Friday.

"Give Like Dolly Day" will celebrate the music, spirit, and legacy of Dolly Parton, the iconic country music star who passed away last month at the age of 80.

"Dolly Parton has meant so much to so many of us, not only through her music, but through the way she lived her life," said the owner of Grove Brewing Company, Jeff Smith. "Her warmth, humour, generosity, and belief in looking after other people around you feel completely at home here in Kingsville and throughout Windsor-Essex."

The event will raise funds for Parton's Imagination Library, the gift-giving program founded in 1995. It provides free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age five.

The Kiwanis Club of Windsor is the program's local partner.

Grove Brewing will also have a specially designed cocktail called the "Backwoods Barbie." A dollar from each sale, and the sale of Grove Brewing's "Tailgate Lager" and "Tailgate Light" will be donated to the local Imagination Library.

The evening will include a performance by the Ashley Lynn Experience at 8 p.m.

Kingsville Mayor Dennis Rogers has also proclaimed Friday, September 25, as "Give Like Dolly Day."
