Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) would like to hear from residents about their feelings on tourism and hospitality.
A "resident sentiment" survey is now online.
TWEPI President and CEO Gordon Orr said that the purpose is not just for residents to describe their favourite local spots, but also the attitudes behind them.
"Tourism is an important part of our region’s economy and contributes to the vibrancy of our communities, but it’s equally important that we understand how the people who live here feel about its impact," said Orr. "Their feedback will provide valuable insight into where opportunities exist, and how we can continue to grow tourism in a way that benefits our visitors, our businesses and, most importantly, the communities we call home."
TWEPI said the region draws about five million visitors a year, bringing about $816-million in visitor spending, and supporting over 11,000 seasonal jobs locally.
The survey is being conducted by Bannikin, an Ontario-based research firm.
