DWBIA puts out a call for artists

Windsor-area artists are invited to submit a portfolio of their work to the Downtown Windsor BIA for an art project at downtown businesses.

It's part of the Downtown Windsor BIA's Winter Fest programming. Participating businesses will have their windows painted for the season.

Their portfolios will be reviewed by those businesses, who will pick their preferred artist. The BIA will then coordinate a meeting between the artist and the business owner to talk about design and installation.

Artists will then develop a design that aligns with the business owner's preferences and the artist's style.

Artists will receive $100 for the initial painting, and $50 for each additional work of art completed by the artist. For businesses with extra-large windows, the artist and the BIA will agree on an adjusted rate.

The BIA will remove the designs after the season.

The deadline for portfolios is November 13, and the designs will be displayed between November 15 and January 15, 2027.

Artists can submit their work to [email protected], and the chosen artists will be notified by email.
