A steak dinner is being hosted to support local dancers competing on a world stage.
Gabrielle Hesse, a 14-year-old from Chatham-Kent, along with two other girls from the area, are hosting the dinner in an effort to fundraise for Dance World Cup, a 10-day dance competition held in Dublin, Ireland.
Kayla Williams, Hesse's mom, hopes to sell at least 100 tickets.
"Every day I wake up, and I think 'okay, we're really doing this'," said Williams.
Hesse is the sole dancer representing CK at the competition, which is recognized as the world’s largest international youth dance competition.
"This is honestly such an honor, I'm so grateful that I have gotten chosen for this opportunity,” said Hesse. “I've been working so hard and working towards this for a long time."
The night includes a steak dinner with all the fixings as well as raffle prizes.
The event, starting at 5:30 p.m. on May 15, is being held at the Ultimate Sports Bar in Chatham. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling or texting Williams at 519-365-5644.
