Boil water advisory issued for Benmiller

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) has issued a Boil Water Advisory for the Benmiller water system.

The notice was issued on Thursday, June 4, after recent water sample results showed unsatisfactory levels of bacterial contamination in the water supply.

According to the Health Unit, it is not safe for residents in the Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh community to drink directly from the tap.

Until further notice, all water used for cooking or drinking must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to use.

If you are experiencing symptoms of illness and have consumed water in Benmiller, the Health Unit asks that you follow up with your health care provider.

A notice lifting the advisory will be issued by HPPH when two consecutive satisfactory water results are obtained.
