LaSalle seeks more public feedback on the future of transit

If you haven't already, the Town of LaSalle really wants your feedback on the future of local transit.

It's launching a second round of public consultations that will help it refine proposed route changes, service models, service levels, and cost.

The first round brought out more than 150 people in February and March. Their input, along with technical analysis, helped shape the latest proposals now being shared with the community.

"We are in the development stage," said Deputy CAO Peter Marra. "Materials, including maps and routes, are draft concepts developed to ask for feedback and advance discussion. There are no final plans, approved changes or implementations taking place at this stage."

Representatives from the transit advocacy group Left Turn Right Turn will host a public open house at the Vollmer Recreation Complex on June 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The town is looking for public input on proposals to change Route 25, preferences for on-demand transit service, future service levels, and related costs.

Those who can't attend the public meeting are encouraged to view the proposals on LaSalle's webpage and complete a survey. The survey is open until June 30.
