Residents, business leaders, community partners, and other stakeholders are invited to two upcoming public meetings in Essex to go over the town's draft official plan and its draft Colchester Secondary Plan.
Both are drop-in style open houses where members of the community can learn more about the draft documents, ask questions, and share input that will guide future growth and development in Essex.
The first public open house is planned for Thursday, June 18, at the Essex Centre Sports Complex. The meeting will be in the Shaheen Community Room and starts at 6 p.m. It wraps up at 8 p.m.
A second public open house is planned for Tuesday, June 23. That meeting will be at the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Draft Official Plan, Draft Colchester Secondary Plan, and all the supporting documents are available now on the town's website, in-person at the Gesto Building on County Road 12, and at Essex Town Hall on Talbot Street South.
The official plan includes the town's long-range goals, objectives, and policies to guide land use, development and growth.
