Clinton resident accused of mischief in Grand Bend

Provincial police are reminding the public about the impacts of vandalism after a 21-year-old from Clinton allegedly damaged two parking gates in Grand Bend while intoxicated.

Lambton OPP said officers were called to a business on Main Street West on July 4, shortly after 10:50 p.m.

Police said the suspect was found in the area and charged with mischief and being intoxicated in a public place.

"The Lambton County OPP reminds the public that acts of vandalism not only result in unnecessary repair costs for businesses and property owners but can also impact the safety and accessibility of community spaces," read a media release.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious or criminal activity is encouraged to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be reported to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on September 14.
