Around 630 people will spend their Saturday morning taking in the view along the riverfront in St. Clair Township.
It's the annual St. Clair River Run on May 30.
The event includes a half marathon, 10-kilometre run, five kilometre walk/run, a 2.5 kilometre walk/run and a kids minnow dash through Sombra and Port Lambton.
When the event launched in 2010, funds went toward the St. Clair River Trail, which has since been completed.
Organizing member Michelle Maitland said this year, funds raised will go towards supporting local initiatives and programs benefitting the community and its residents.
"So since we've taken it over, we've tried to diversify where we put money," said Maitland. "Again, kind of stick to things like the Optimist and food banks in Sombra and Corunna. This year we're hoping to give to Noelle's Gift. Some of us work in education, and we're seeing a growing need there."
Participants are asked to meet at Brander Park, with registration beginning at 6 a.m.
Maitland said buses will be provided to shuttle runners and walkers from Brander Park to their respective start lines.
You're asked to arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled race time to allow for parking, warm-ups and last minute preparations.
The event will wrap up at Brander Park with an awards ceremony.
Motorists are advised there will be rolling closures along St. Clair Parkway from Courtright Line beginning at 7:15 a.m. and from Wilkesport Line beginning at 7:45 a.m.
The road closures will be cleared as the race moves southward.
