Three-vehicle crash sends one person to hospital

An elderly woman is in critical condition after a three-vehicle crash in Amherstburg on Sunday.

The collision happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Front Road North and Kingsbridge Drive.

Investigators with the Windsor Police Service determined that a car turning left entered into the path of an oncoming vehicle with the right of way. The impact pushed the turning vehicle into a third car stopped at a red light.

A passenger in the turning vehicle, an 80-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours while the Windsor Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit investigated.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or video footage of the incident is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-945-9645, ext. 7032.
