Windsor police say a person suspected of being a serial burglar of parked vehicles has been arrested.
Investigators say that between February 21, and Thursday morning, multiple reports were taken about vehicles being broken into in the Fontainebleau section of the east end.
Various items were taken out of the vehicles. In two of the cases, stolen objects were offered for sale online.
At around 4 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to an auto theft in progress on Armstrong Avenue near Rose Street. The homeowner spotted someone removing items from their vehicle. When the suspect was confronted, he ran.
Members of the Target Base Unit were conducting surveillance nearby and soon arrested the suspect.
The 31-year-old man is charged with five separate incidents. He faces four counts of theft under $5,000, four counts of possession of stolen property, and one count of mischief under $5,000.
Some of the stolen property has been recovered.
The charges have not been proven in court.
