OPP probing sudden death in Tecumseh

An enhanced police presence remains in a Tecumseh neighbourhood following what is being called a sudden death investigation.

Few details have been released, but officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Tecumseh detachment were called to Chornoby Crescent near Westlake Drive at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue and Essex-Windsor EMS were also at the scene.

"The investigation is in its early stages, and residents of the area should expect to see an increased police presence," said OPP Constable Chris Ciliska. "There is no threat to public safety."

Additional details will be provided as they are released.
