The playgrounds are at Esdras Park, George Park on Wyandotte Street East, and Bellewood Park on Youngstown Street.
Construction started on Thursday, and the playgrounds are not expected to reopen until Thursday, July 2.
The parks are open, but caution tape is up around the play equipment.
