Windsor police say two people have been arrested following an armed robbery on Tuesday evening.
Officers were called to the area of Ouellette Avenue and Hanna Street at around 6:30 p.m. The victim was walking their dog when two people drove up, got out, and demanded the animal.
When the victim refused to surrender the dog, the female suspect allegedly unclipped it from its harness while the male suspect sprayed the victim with pepper spray.
The male forced the dog from the victim's arms and knocked the victim over. The pair then fled the scene.
The suspects were quickly identified and found in the area of Curry Avenue off Campbell Avenue. They were arrested, and the dog was returned safely to its rightful owner.
A 38-year-old woman is charged with robbery with violence.
A 19-year-old man is charged with armed robbery.
The charges have not been proven in court.
