A man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Sarnia.
At 1:36 a.m. Sunday, Sarnia officers using an Automated Licence Plate Reader were alerted to possible improper plates on a black Acura travelling on Maxwell Street.
After stopping the vehicle, police discovered the plates were not authorized for that vehicle.
Officers placed the driver under arrest. While the man exited the vehicle, police saw a small baggie filled with white powder.
The man was searched, and another baggie with loose pills was seized.
The 68-year-old man, who was subject to a probation order, has been charged with possession of cocaine, possession of Percocet, failure to comply with probation, driving a car with no permit, and using unauthorized plates.
He has been released on a police undertaking.
